Bangkok December 2011

Nana Hotel in Bangkok.

Comparatively beautiful rooms”: is it a bad translation or are they just being honest?

Whatever it is, I cannot recommend this hotel at all. The rooms have all the charms of 1980s Army barracks rooms and the airco has only two settings: “Arctic” and “off”, neither of which is acceptable. Fortunately I only stayed in this hotel for half a day, until I could get on the plane back home.

Back Home

I have returned home after a short vacation in Thailand.

10 days, it is not enough really, but still it did me loads of good. Spending some time with my loved one recharged my batteries.

A few days in Bangkok and then I took the night train to Khon Kaen and a taxi to Maha Sarakham where I met up with Zai.

Zai, my loved one, in her government uniform

She received her “Master of Education Research” diploma from the hands of the Royal Princess Siridhorn. A big honour indeed!

After all this protocol, we still had a few days left to spend time together and travel around with her daughter Korya. More pictures of this all can be found on my photo website.

I am really blessed to have met Zai. She is so sweet and kind and always full of good ideas!

This blog

OK. The week is finished and the week-end is near.

An ideal time to spend some energy on arranging this web-site.

I started with the more-or-less standard Twenty-Eleven theme that comes pre-installed. It is nice and user-friendly, has tons of options, but it gets bo-o-o-o-o-ring fast. I guess there must be thousands of blogs based upon this theme.

So I tried something a bit more “flashy”: the Esquire theme. At the very least it is colorful and has a certain je ne sais quoi feel to it. A bit of a sixties look and feel perhaps too. Yes, I show my age by this statement.

I don’t know how long I will keep this theme. Let me know if you like it or not.
